Listen to Mark Kahn, managing partner of India’s first agtech venture capital firm Omnivore Partners and a regular on the US agtech scene, talk about why he ended up working in India, how the firm built its first agtech portfolio and the rapidly changing dynamics of the industry at large.
Omnivore is currently raising its second fund, targeting $70 million, after closing its first on $39 million in 2013. Its portfolio companies include pest management tech company Barrix AgroSciences, weather forecaster Skymet Weather Services, automatic seed drills manufacturer Khedut Agro Engineering, and decision support tool Retigence Technologies.
