Food Technology Project Manager

This position is in Chinova’s ingredient business where we improve lives through better nutrition and sustainable solutions. The role is based at our headquarters in Fredericton, NB, Canada.

The Food Technology Project Manager will assist to oversee and handle the operational aspects of ongoing projects, serving as a liaison among project management and planning, project teams, and line management. In this role, you will contribute to reviewing project proposals to resolve timeframe, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing the project. You will also assist in the review and prioritization of projects to align with investment strategies and business priorities. As a Food Technology Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead impactful projects, drive business growth, and shape the future of the food ingredients industry.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participate in identifying and resolving obstacles to completing projects on time and within budget.

  • Adhere to internal and external quality standards.

  • Develop detailed project plans and monitor and report on the status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing.

  • Organize project teams, assign individual responsibilities, develop project schedules, and determine resource requirements.

  • Ensure all relevant project data is entered into the project and performance management tools and all documentation and paperwork are collected and archived to leverage on similar future projects.

  • Ensure stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and detailed information is available when required.

  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Food Science, Business Administration, Engineering) is required. An advanced degree or certification in Project Management is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably within the food ingredients industry or a related field. Familiarity with food ingredient development, regulatory compliance, and production processes is highly desirable.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects effectively. Proficient in using project management tools and software.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to identify risks, propose solutions, and make informed decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proactive mindset, self-motivated, and results-oriented. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
