General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Wilbur-Ellis Company, a leading international marketer and distributor of agricultural products, animal feed and specialty chemicals and ingredients, is seeking candidates for the position of Director, Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM). The SCRM is responsible for the identification and quantification of both upside and downside supply and value chain risk as well as the development, execution and monitoring of risk controls. Working with key suppliers, internal/external partners, and cross-functional teams, the SCRM will propose and execute solutions to leverage, eliminate or substantially reduce supply and value chain risk as well as establish risk tolerances for the organization.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

Established leadership with a minimum of 10 years of experience spanning both strategic and operations roles.
Working knowledge of the processes associated with the end-to-end supply chain including:
Sourcing – Key supplier and product selection and management
Manufacturing operations
Warehousing and distribution – 3rd party selection and management
Appropriate handling procedures for food, pharma, and specialty chemicals
New product introduction processes
Capacity planning
Inventory management
Outsourcing strategy
Supply and demand balancing
Logistics, reverse logistics and service operations
Experience developing measurement systems to quantify, track and benchmark supply chain risk.
Experience in project management.
Experience in training and development.
Familiarity with ERM frameworks and process including ISO 31000.
Integrated knowledge and understanding of the value chains.
In-depth understanding of interface of product and value chain design decisions and the impact on the end-to-end supply chain
Knowledge of agribusiness, animal feed, or specialty chemical sectors a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels (executive, customer, individual contributor).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as teamwork and interpersonal skills, to include the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally.
Ability to lead a cross functional and globally dispersed team
Identify & drive solutions in a complex, ambiguous environment
Ability to influence with informal authority.
Ability to drive change and transform the business
Must be results oriented and a self-starter
Ability to identify the need and develop a strategy
Ability to execute and achieve planned strategies

 

Key Personal Attributes Include:
BS in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain
MBA or MS Preferred
10-15 years of experience in supply and value chain management.
Broad experience in distribution of food, pharma and specialty chemical products.
Supply chain management: sourcing, warehousing/distribution and manufacturing operations
Strategic planning
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

Developing strategic direction for managing risk throughout the supply and value chain(s)
Evaluating the existing supply chain for improvement opportunities that align with regulatory & sustainability requirements
Developing a supplier partner risk mitigation program to ensure compliance with both external and internal regulations and internal controls.
Identifying and quantifying key risks throughout the Feed Divisions’ supply and value chain(s).
Developing and executing appropriate controls following ERM best practices.
Propose and seek buy-in for supply and value chain risk control initiatives.
Project manages change and improvement initiatives as it relates to supply and value chain controls.
Monitor and measure current and/or emerging supply and value chain risks as well as control performance and report findings to executive management.
Seeks to identify, quantify and report same on upside supply and value chain opportunities.
