Creating a healthy, humane, and sustainable food supply
The Good Food Institute (GFI) is on the forefront of the movement to use food technology and markets to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger to antibiotic efficacy and the exploitation of billions of animals annually. The Good Food Institute’s Graphic Designer has a critical role in ensuring that a good food future happens as quickly and efficiently as possible. At GFI, you will help lead the conversation on the growing plant-based and “clean meat” industries to further the work of the world’s top entrepreneurs and scientists who are focused on developing healthy, humane, and sustainable alternatives to factory-farmed products.
How You Will Make a Difference
As GFI’s Graphic Designer, you will create content for GFI and mission-aligned companies, including but not limited to websites, presentations, newsletters, annual reports, fundraising materials, memes, logos, and organizational documents while keeping up-to-date on the digital landscape and maintaining intimate knowledge of the latest social media, content, and emerging technology platforms. You will ensure the food revolution is visually powerful by:
- Collaborating closely with our Communications Department and directors across all GFI departments to develop, produce, and edit graphic content for the organization.
- Overseeing graphic and creative layout for GFI.org and any other organizational websites.
- Working with mission-aligned startups and entrepreneurs to create compelling designs for pitch decks, products, and social media.
- Creating and managing a system for efficient management of all GFI’s digital assets.
- Participating in the creative development of viral memes and gifs and seeing them through production.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking smart, thoughtful, and creative self-starters who want to push back against climate change, transform industrial animal agriculture, and develop healthy and humane foods that are accessible to everyone.
The Graphic Designer must be extremely creative and have a strong work ethic, exceptional design abilities, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm about GFI’s mission. We are looking for creative, innovative designers who aren’t afraid to take risks and bring their vision and ideas to this position. You will enjoy a high level of autonomy in this role and must be self-motivated, work well both independently and in concert with a larger group, and be comfortable working with a rapidly evolving and growing team.
We are considering candidates with a bachelor’s degree or higher in graphic design, advertising, communications, or a related field and/or a minimum of two years of professional experience. Prior experience with WordPress strongly preferred.
