We are building new technology for farmers that enables them to boost their levels of farm performance and environmental sustainability. Our first product, MaiaGrazing, provides sophisticated decision support for graziers.
With the technology now being used on farms across Australia and the US, Maia is growing its business and looking to add to its sales team. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a well-funded agtech startup.
We are looking for a high energy sales consultant, to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. You will work with agricultural specialists and software developers, as well as marketing, sales and support professionals.
Reporting to the Sales and Partner Channels Manager, you will be engaged in converting prospects to sales through consultative selling directly to farmers, as well as working in conjunction with our existing channel partners.
You will uncover sales opportunities, manage the sale process, and close business. After being thoroughly trained, you will be able to demonstrate the software to prospective customers, often remotely. You will represent the product at trade shows and events. You will also work with the product team to incorporate farmer feedback into product development.
Experience and Skills
You will ideally have:
Excellent written and verbal communication, strong presentation and negotiation skills.
An interest/passion for farming and agriculture
2+ years sales experience and understanding of the sales process
Ability to build and nurture relationships, maximise growth opportunities and meet revenue targets
Experience within the agriculture and/or technology industry
Agribusiness or Ag Science qualification would be an advantage
A tertiary qualification in economics, communications, business management or business administration is preferred, but not necessary.
You will be enthusiastic, energetic, a self-starter who can think outside the box. You are driven by results, and passionate about making farmers successful.
You excel in achieving sales targets through your entrepreneurial approach.
We have offices in Sydney and Armidale, so being based in either vicinity is preferable, but working remotely is feasible so long as you are able to come into the Sydney office regularly. Given the rural and regional location of our user base and industry events, the ability to travel is critical.
