Kula Bio produces sustainable, biological solutions for modern agriculture. As we enter a growth phase of business, we are expanding our accounting department with an experienced accountant who has an exceptional eye for detail and adherence to scalable policies, procedures, systems and standards.

On a typical day, you will partner with the Controller and Senior Accountant to maintain complete and accurate books and records, complete month end close with supporting reconciliations including inventory, process payroll and execute reporting processes and procedures. You will be responsible for the AP/AR processes which include vendor/customer communication and banking information. You will be a key member of the close process and assist with journal entries and account reconciliations. As a member of the Finance team, you will liaise with advisors, including auditors, as necessary. In addition, you will collaborate as a business partner with cross-functional teams across the organization effectively and extensively to accomplish strategic initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you are creative, intellectually curious and a broad-based thinker who understands the start-up atmosphere. You have experience in a generalized accounting role, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and payroll. You have strong analytical and process skills, and you understand the importance of attention to detail and accuracy. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and is a self-starter who is   comfortable in an agile and growing organization.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in Finance/Accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience at a manufacturing, start-up, and/or research and development organization preferred
  • Experience in inventory, AP, AR and payroll preferred
  • Experience in public accounting preferred
  • Experience with SAP By Design (cloud) preferred
Salary Description
$62,000 – $68,000
