Hiringa Energy and Australian agricultural co. Sundown Pastoral Co have been awarded A$35.8m ($23.6m ) from the New South Wales government to build a green hydrogen and ammonia production facility that will slash carbon emissions from fuel and fertilizer.
Nium will use the funds to develop its small-scale, low-energy-consumption system to clean up ammonia production’s dirty footprint.
Australia’s Jupiter Ionics says it has found a way to produce ammonia – a key fertilizer ingredient – on-demand, using only air, water, and renewable electricity.
