Are you an agritech startup that wants to scale its business to its full potential and have a positive impact in the agrifood industry? Then join the RootCamp Acceleration Program!
RootCamp is an international incubator based in Hannover, Germany, for technology-oriented startups in the agrifood sector. Agriculture faces mounting challenges, from climate change to population growth to shifting consumer preferences. RootCamp’s mission is to disrupt the agrifood value chain by bringing corporates and startups together to develop customized solutions that solve real problems. The corporate partners include K+S AG, a globally recognized company in the mineral and fertilizer industry, and KWS Group, one of the world’s leading plant-breeding firms.
For our upcoming batch, we’re looking for solutions from all verticals of the agrifood value chain, but especially solutions in the following areas:
- Agriculture biotechnology including biostimulants, gene editing, biological plant protection, microbiome and seed treatment technologies;
- Carbon farming technologies and tools; and
- Digital solutions, like marketplaces, decision systems, and agronomic consulting platforms.
What’s in it for me?
This program for early-stage companies includes an intense acceleration phase of 12 weeks, which consists of multiple workshops covering everything relevant for new startups – from financing and funding, to business development, marketing, sales, pitch training, and an e-learning platform with videos, articles, and other high-quality content. On top of this, RootCamp offers mentoring with highly experienced and skilled experts, individual coaching, an extensive investor network, and participation in events such as Agritechnica – the world’s largest agricultural technology trade fair. This first phase of the program comes with an equity-free grant of €10,000 ($11,800) per team. Office space in Hannover is offered for free, while many parts of the program will be offered online to give founders plenty of flexibility.
Moreover, RootCamp is specialized in initiating and facilitating successful collaborations between our partners and startups. After the three-month first phase, startups have the opportunity to join the second phase and implement a pilot project together with RootCamp’s partners. RootCamp not only offers support for both parties, but a structured process to enable the implementation of technology in the real world. This second phase of the program runs up to an additional nine months and startups are supported by an additional grant of up to €40,000 ($47,400) per team.
