Farmeron has done it again with another round of funding.
Last week, the company closed a $2.65 Million seed round from investors including serial entrepreneur Matt Swanson, former Innovative Livestock Services CEO Andrew Murphy, SoftTech VC and NextView Ventures. Both VC’s were previous investors.
Farmeron is a data management software companies focused on cows. Competing with DairyComp305 and DHI-Provo, both animal data management tools, Farmeron is an SaaS platform and helps cattle farmers manage anywhere from 50 to 5,000 cows. It turns precision agriculture into “precision animal feeding“.
This isn’t the first seed-round for Farmeron. In 2012, the company closed a $1.4 million seed round, which was co-led by Lee Hower of NextView Ventures and Jeff Clavier of SoftTech VC. This round of funding will be used to seek enterprise sales, according to TechCrunch.
As investors are turning to the green space, what’ll be funded next? A chicken virtual reality?
