From accelerated materials discovery and turbo-charged R&D, to menu optimization, personalized nutrition, and rapid concept development; artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are being deployed across the food, ag, and adjacent industries at breakneck speed.
To explore how some startups in the space are harnessing these tools at AgFunder’s AGM earlier this month (held at the SynBioBeta conference in San Jose), AgFunder’s head of engineering Robin Ranjit Singh Chauhan (pictured far left) sat down with founders from three portfolio companies:
- Cromatic: Using AI to help biotech firms discover and connect with contract research organizations and then manage those relationships thereafter (second from left, Anne Chen, cofounder and CTO).
- Atinary Technologies: Building a cloud-based machine learning platform that dramatically speeds up the R&D process for discovering breakthrough materials and molecules (center: Dr. Hermann Tribukait, cofounder and CEO; and second from right: Dr. Loïc Roch, cofounder and CTO).
- dataspan.ai: Providing an intuitive visual platform leveraging generative AI to automatically process data and train computer vision models (far right: Ofer Lavi, cofounder and CEO).
