Weather Analytics is seeking an Agricultural Data Scientist to provide expert knowledge in agricultural commodities and experience with statistical forecasting of agricultural commodities (production or prices) for a variety of agricultural products for commercial and government customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise in agronomy at all stages of project development
Apply statistical and agronomic principals to analyze commodities on scales from global to local (e.g., US counties) and the impact of weather and non-weather factors on such commodities
Work with team members to create and implement innovative commodity pricing and production forecast models
Degree in agronomy, crop science, or related field (M.S. or Ph.D preferred, or B.S. with significant relevant experience)
Working knowledge of major agricultural commodities such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and rice
Working knowledge of statistical concepts, with experience applying statistics to commodity analysis and forecasting
Experience with modern programming or scripting languages: Python, R, or MATLAB
Desire to learn about, explore, and invent new tools for solving real-world problems using data
Knowledge of U.S. government policies and programs related to agriculture
Proficiency extracting, transforming, and analyzing a variety of data types
