Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•       This position is responsible for defining company’s field development strategy and executing global field development work including grower and contract field trials in support of product go-to-market.  This includes field product development testing (for example: label development, equipment compatibility, application testing), and integrated pest management (IPM) program development

•       Maximize the return of company’s field development budget

•       Identify, specify, negotiate, and execute field trial protocols with partners; track projects and synthesize results

•       Work collaboratively with internal team and external partners to make recommendations based on findings

•       Provide expertise and leadership in the area of agronomy, IPM, and most importantly, customer requirements

•       Write technical reports and proposals

•       Travel to field trial sites and industry meetings (50% travel)

The Successful Candidate will:

•       Have a proven track record of building grower and research relationships domestically and internationally as a vehicle to drive product development and collect local data

•       Be experienced in specialty crops including tropical / sub-tropical crops grown in the US and internationally

•       Possess demonstrated public speaking skills to conduct group meetings and answer questions–and effectively communicate product, market, competitive and customer data

•       Make sound agronomic recommendations to partners by presenting solutions that maximize user outcomes

•       Be experienced in collaborating with partners internationally particularly in Latin America and Asia

•       Collect information regarding performance of CE and competitor products

•       Timely communicate with CE leadership regarding opportunities and obstacles identified in development process


•       The successful candidate must be highly accomplished and productive with a strong track record

•       BS in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Pathology, Entomology or related field

•       Current PCA and CCA license, if located in CA, is strongly preferred

•       Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; clean driving record is required

•       Excellent communication skills in English, with additional ability to speak Spanish preferred

•       Willingness to take initiative and follow-through, with good organizational skills and attention to detail

•       Must have a can-do attitude and be responsive in the fast pace of a start-up environment

•       U.S. work authorization or citizenship; no visa sponsorship is available

•       No relocation required as this position operates out of the chosen candidate’s home office
