We are looking for a highly skilled and driven professional who can provide guidance and leadership across a range of business management disciplines, supporting the day-to-day financial administration and longer-term strategic goals of the business. You will have oversight of all financial operations including the annual budget and planning process, monthly management and Board reporting and all the statutory reporting and regulatory requirements.

As a senior professional you will be a focal subject matter expert across a broad range of business critical issues from finance, operational business performance, and strategic planning.  The role will see you involved multiple projects designed to improve financial efficiencies and provide improved visibility to stakeholders.

Finally, as Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the internal finance and administration function, including HR administration; grants and R&D management and interfacing with our internal legal coordinator and external legal and accounting advisors on a range of company projects and tasks.

Goals include:

Driving the external reporting process to investors and stakeholders, consolidating management reporting, preparation/completion of the half year and full year results, statutory accounts and financial statements
Leading in a fast paced, agile environment and interfacing with product and engineering teams
Implementing the Company’s financial and business management strategies
Continuous improvement of our internal finance and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the smooth and efficient running of the AgriDigital finance & admin team; AP/AR and payroll direct report
Oversee financial administration tasks for all AgriDigital related entities
Reconcile AgriDigital’s financial accounts including:
Bank account reconciliation
Monthly reconciliations of all ledgers
Debtors and creditors management
Prepare monthly management reports and review and report on budget variances
Preparation of annual budgets including operating and capital expenditure budgets
Prepare meaningful reports as required by the Board and executives
Cashflow management to ensure business working capital requirements are met
Analyse business performance and results by completing a monthly management report and discussing and reporting any budget variances with directors and external accountant.
Ensure all taxation and other statutory obligations are managed in a timely manner including BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax and superannuation
Manage of general business and workers compensation insurances
Maintain suitable records for preparation of R&D return
Identify and prepare submissions for applicable government grants
Liaise with external accountants and advisors as required
Develop effective control systems and reporting as the Company grows and develops
Work alongside the CEO for all capital raising activities including preparing investor decks and related materials

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or business administration
CA/CPA qualified
3-5 years as an Accountant, Finance Manager or Financial Controller
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
Strong computer literacy and application of Xero
Strong project management skills
Strong team management skills – the ability to lead, motivate and coach
Demonstrated ability to identify system gaps and implement change
Knowledge of blockchain/DLT technologies is highly desirable
Previous startup company experience in the same or similar role is preferred
Familiarity with information security vulnerabilities and risk management
Familiarity with consumer privacy and financial service and /or payments industry compliance requirements
Team player, willing to work collaboratively in a high-energy, fast-moving, start up environment
Enthusiastic for and experience in the agriculture, food or supply chain industries is a plus
