THRIVE | Bayer Sustainability Challenge Launch
April 14 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 amFree
On April 14th, startups and scaleups will be able to get the first look at the THRIVE | Bayer Sustainability Challenge! Allen Christian, Head of Open Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at Bayer Crop Science will present the details on the challenge focus areas and the key benefits for one startup and one scaleup winner. THRIVE will also be joined by Sara Boettiger, Head of Public Affairs, Science & Sustainability at Bayer Crop Science to hear how Bayer Crop Science’s sustainability commitments help advance a carbon-zero and more inclusive future for agriculture.
The Challenge aims to identify and support key startup and scaleup innovators that promote sustainability through reducing the environmental impact of crop protection, reducing field greenhouse gas emissions, and empowering smallholder farmers to access sustainable agricultural solutions. The Challenge combines Bayer Crop Sciences’ sustainability commitments and THRIVE’s Global Initiative focus on the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals to promote innovations that can address pressing challenges in the global agrifood chain. If you are a startup or scaleup that helps solve for one or more of our three challenge focus areas below, we want to hear from you!
1. Producing higher crop yields with lower consumption of natural resources
2. Advance a carbon-zero future for agriculture in crop production systems
3. Advance smallholder farming systems in socially, environmentally, and commercially responsible ways
