The Wall Street Journal’s fifth annual Global Food Forum will bring together leaders in agribusiness, food production, consumer products, economics and government to explore the transformative trends shaping the global business of food.

Our focus in October: how the food industry has been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as companies, markets, consumers and the industry adapt.

Topics we will explore include how the pandemic has changed consumer habits and what the post-Covid-19 future looks like for big brands; the food supply chain and how the current disruption will shape practices in the future; how the pandemic has permanently shifted consumer grocery shopping behavior — and what that shift looks like; where investors see special opportunity to accelerate improvements in the food system through investment in technology; the food crises developing across vulnerable regions as the global economy goes through contraction, trade and supply chains are disrupted, and incomes and local production of food fall; and U.S.-China trade — whether the U.S. will fully reclaim its status as a top food supplier to the world’s second-largest economy.
